5 things to watch at Thursday’s city council meeting
The College Station City Council meets Thursday after 6 p.m. at city hall. The meeting is streamed live on Optimum Channel 19 and at cstx.gov/cstv19.

To address the council about any item on the workshop or regular agenda, register with the city secretary by 4 p.m. or call 979-764-3500 and provide your name and phone number. Written comments will be provided to the council members.
Here are five items to watch:
1. Bush Library Update
The council will discuss The Bush Library and Museum’s upcoming events and expansions with representatives of the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation.
2. Off-Campus Housing
The council will discuss cooperation with Texas A&M regarding off-campus housing with Vice President of Student Affairs Gen. Joe Ramirez.
3. Middle Housing Zoning Areas
The council will discuss the priority areas for possible city-initiated rezoning to the Middle Housing Zoning District to allow a flexible mix of housing products by-right, including small lot single-family, duplexes, townhouses, small and medium multiplexes, and live-work units.
4. Fidelity Street Rezoning
After a public hearing, the council will consider a request to change the zoning from General Suburban to Middle Housing for about 0.27 acres at 211 Fidelity Street, the first for the new zoning district. The applicant intends to develop small-lot, single-family homes.
5. Fire/EMS Interlocal Agreement
The council will consider an interlocal automatic aid agreement proposed by the City of Bryan for fire and emergency medical services. Since June 2021, the cities have discussed needed revisions to the agreement that’s been in place since 1997. In November, the council unanimously voted to terminate the existing agreement.
