ACC hosts Health Sciences Open House: Exploring Healthcare Careers

Central Texas is home to more than 25 hospitals, with almost $2.5 billion in construction underway by three major healthcare systems to expand. As those projects are expected to be completed in 2024, Austin Community College District (ACC) remains committed to meeting the demands of the community.

The college hosts its annual Health Science Open House for students and the community to explore its programs and find a rewarding career.

DATE: Saturday, February 25

TIME: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

LOCATION: ACC Eastview Campus, 3401 Webberville Rd.

Guests will visit innovative labs, explore simulation technology, speak with faculty and students, view live demonstrations, and learn how to get started.

“There is a pressing need for highly competent healthcare professionals in a variety of fields. As Central Texas continues to expand, we remain committed to filling the needs of our healthcare partners and community,” says Dr. Nina Almasy, ACC Dean of Health Sciences. “There are so many career opportunities out there in health care. This open house provides an opportunity to explore the many healthcare programs, including continuing education and credit options available at ACC.”

The college offers numerous healthcare degrees and technical certificates, including dental hygiene, veterinary technology, radiology, sonography, surgical technology, nursing, and many more.

The event is free and open to the public. Registration is recommended but not required.
