“One of the things we like to work with our students on is exploring their options,” said Jessica Ranero-Ramirez, director of College and Career Pathways. “Naturally that can be an overwhelming thing.”
The event includes panels of speakers who work in various careers to give students a glimpse of the type of work they could pursue.
This semester’s panels will feature physicians, engineers, IT administrators and criminal justice professionals.
“We bring people who are working in those fields to talk to students and parents and tell them a little about their journey and what their day to day is like,” Ranero-Ramirez said. “This is their opportunity to network.”
Students can learn about the educational requirements, professional requirements, scholarship opportunities as well as other important resources needed to enter into a specific profession.
The event will be Saturday, February 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Science/Health Science Building. Their will be giveaways, door prizes along with breakfast snacks and lunch.
“We try to make this fun for the students so they can get something out of it,” she said.
Students and parents are asked to register for the event. They can find out more by calling 281-756-3748.
