Figuring out life can be tough, but we’re here to help.
Registration is now open for Austin Community College District’s (ACC) one-day showcase called Adulting 101. Join us online or in-person to learn skills that can help you find success beyond the classroom.
This annual event offers sessions in life skills, including career preparation, self-care, financial planning, and healthy living.
Date: Friday, March 25
Time: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Location: In-person at ACC South Austin Campus (1820 W Stassney Lane) and Online via Zoom.
“Being successful in life isn’t just about getting a degree, but also getting support on how to be prepared for life. Adulting 101 bridges the gap to connect people with resources available in our community to take that next step in life,” says Loretta Edelen, ACC Community Engagement director. “There can be a stigma in asking for help. ACC provides those resources to help our students and community to successfully navigate the adult world and create opportunities. This event helps highlight those resources.”
Adulting 101 is sponsored by University Federal Credit Union. Students, staff, and the community are invited. Sessions include:
- Career preparation
- Managing money
- Healthy living
- Mental health support
- How to dress for success
- Car maintenance
The in-person portion is capped at 250 people, so register early. There is no cap for the virtual event. Both are free and open to the public. For more information, to view a complete schedule, and register, visit austincc.edu/adulting101.
Note: For those who attend in-person, ACC will host an on-campus COVID-19 vaccination clinic for eligible members of the ACC community. Vaccines and boosters will be available from 10 a.m. to Noon.
