Texas State lost its final midweek baseball game of the regular season to UTSA by a score of 19-4, according to a May 12 announcement. The game, played at Roadrunner Field, ended after seven innings.

The outcome is significant as it marks the end of Texas State’s non-conference games for the regular season and sets the stage for their upcoming Sun Belt Conference series. The Bobcats now hold a record of 31-22, while UTSA improved to 35-17.

Kendall Dove earned the win for UTSA after pitching 1.2 innings in relief and allowing one run on four hits. Texas State’s starting pitcher took the loss after giving up eight runs—only one earned—on five hits in less than an inning. Several Texas State pitchers worked in relief during the game, with some recording strikeouts.

At the plate, two Texas State players each went two-for-two and hit home runs. Beheler hit his first collegiate home run with a two-run shot in the fourth inning, while Munguia added a solo homer in the seventh for his first of the season. Mora broke a program record by reaching 409 career total bases with a double down the left field line and later scored on Boles’ single.

Three errors by Texas State in the first inning allowed UTSA to score eight runs early in the contest. The Roadrunners continued their offense throughout, adding three more runs in the second inning and five more in the third before closing out their scoring with additional runs later.

Looking ahead, Texas State will begin its final Sun Belt Conference series against Marshall on Thursday at Irvine-Rasmussen Ballpark with first pitch scheduled for 6 p.m.
