Texas State announced on Apr. 6 that its baseball team will host two home games this week against Texas A&M and Stephen F. Austin, with both contests scheduled for 6 p.m. at Bobcat Ballpark.

The matchups are part of a five-game homestand for the Bobcats, who currently hold a 21-10 record and have won three consecutive Sun Belt Conference series. The team is coming off a streak in which it won eight straight conference games before falling in the series finale against Georgia Southern.

Tuesday’s game will see Texas State face off against 18th-ranked Texas A&M (25-6), with both teams starting left-handed pitchers—Texas State’s starter has a 1-0 record, while Cole Hubert will take the mound for the Aggies. On Wednesday, Texas State will play Stephen F. Austin (18-15), though SFA has not yet announced its starting pitcher.

The Bobcats have been strong offensively this season, tying for seventh nationally with 63 home runs so far. Several players have contributed significant hitting streaks and home run totals, including one player whose recent performance set a new program record for career home runs at Texas State.

In their history against Tuesday’s opponent, Texas A&M leads the all-time series 50-15 and defeated Texas State earlier this season by a score of 9-6 in College Station. At home in San Marcos, the Bobcats are seeking their first win over the Aggies since April 23, 2013.

Against Wednesday’s opponent Stephen F. Austin, Texas State holds an all-time advantage of 46-21 and has won three straight meetings dating back to their last matchup in March of 2018.
