1,499 gifted and talented students were taught in Bastrop County schools in the 2022-23 school year

Test 17

Bastrop County schools enrolled 1,499 students who were identified as being gifted and talented during the 2022-23 school year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

This is an 18.7% increase over the previous school year.

Of the 20,151 students enrolled in Bastrop County schools, 7.4% of them were considered to be gifted and talented.

Bastrop County enrolled the 39th highest number of gifted and talented students among Texas counties.

The Texas education system is currently torn between public schools and taxpayer-funded private schools.

Critics argue that private schools use funds that should go to the public school system, while private school advocates claim they’re offering better education for more Texas students.
