Caldwell County schools enroll 411 gifted and talented students in the 2022-23 school year

Test 12

Caldwell County schools enrolled 411 students who were identified as being gifted and talented during the 2022-23 school year, according to the Texas Education Agency.

This is a 0.5% decrease from the previous school year.

Of the 8,088 students enrolled in Caldwell County schools, 5.1% of them were considered to be gifted and talented.

Caldwell County enrolled the 75th highest number of gifted and talented students among Texas counties.

Education in Texas is often a hot button issue, especially as test scores lag behind other states.

“The problems commonly cited are flaws in the school financing system, relatively low teacher salary, poor test performance by students…dropouts from traditional schools in favor of charter schools…gun violence, and mental health issues,” claimed the Texas Almanac.
