Last Day Of Recycling Service – Monday, March 27th

Following a thorough review of options for garbage and recycling service, the City Council opted to extend a contract with Waste Connections for an additional five-year period. In an attempt to offset the cost increase beginning next month, the City opted to eliminate the recycling pickup option. Unfortunately, due to significant cost for recycling materials and the high rate of contamination, it was determined the City should discontinue recycling at this time, but retains the option to add the service back in at any point during the agreement.

The last day for recycling pickup will be March 27th. Following routine pickup that day, Waste Connections will collect all recycling carts, so please place them at the curb, even if they are empty. Arrangements will be made with any customers who do not place recycle carts out that day, to avoid any charges for the carts.

If you are interested in obtaining another garbage cart due to the elimination of recycling, please contact Waste Connections directly at (817) – 222-2221 to make changes to your account.

Beginning with the month of April, the billing rate will be $14.00/month for a single roll-out cart, and $6.50 for each additional cart. Additionally, costs for any other types of service can be viewed here.
