The City of Manvel invites school-aged artists to participate in its first-ever Holiday Art Contest. Participants have from November 21 to December 12 to submit their artwork to the City of Manvel in person or by email at info@cityofmanvel.com. Winners will be announced at the Cookies & Cocoa with Santa Event on December 16.

Tout your artistic talent at the City of Manvel's first-ever Holiday Art Contest! Students of all ages within the City of Manvel are eligible to enter the contest and submit a two-dimensional work of art. Participants will be competing for a prize and the opportunity to showcase their artwork in City Hall.

Judging for the contest will be done by the Mayor and City Council, with winners selected from each of the three age groups: Kindergarten – 5th grade, 6th – 8th grade, and 9th – 12th grade.

Accepted mediums for the two-dimensional artwork are as follows:

  • Paintings: oil, acrylics, watercolor, etc.
  • Drawings: colored pencil, pencil, ink, marker, pastels, charcoal
  • Two-dimensional collages
  • Prints: lithographs, silkscreen, block prints
  • Mixed Media: use of more than two mediums such as pencil, ink, watercolor, etc.
  • Photographs
Submissions will need to be made in person or sent to info@cityofmanvel.com no later than 5 p.m. on December 12. Artwork should be submitted on either 8x10”, 11x14”, or 11x17” sized paper with the name, age, grade, and contact information of each participant clearly listed on the back.

Winners will receive a prize and have their artwork displayed in City Hall for the duration of the holiday season. For questions about the contest, email info@cityofmanvel.com or call 281-489-0630.
