SHARING FROM SAN MARCOS REGIONAL ANIMAL SHELTER
Our November numbers are in! Our current live outcome rate is 92%. View detailed statistical reports, including euthanasia reasons, at https://sanmarcostx.gov/1397/Statistics-and-Reports As you celebrate this amazing live outcome rate with us, remember that our shelter continues to operate far beyond our capacity limits.
Our staff works tirelessly to save the animals that come to our shelter, BUT we cannot continue to sustain these lifesaving numbers without YOUR help. As the only open admission shelter for all of Hays County, we MUST be able to continue to take in animals in need, regardless of space here at the shelter. These homeless animals have NO WHERE else to go, so if not us, then who? That being said, we have some very difficult choices to make when it comes to how we can safely and humanely house so many animals under one roof.
The issues that our homeless pets face is caused by irresponsible community members, and it's going to take our WHOLE community stepping up to the plate to fix it. Adopt, Foster, Volunteer, Donate, Educate, Spay/Neuter, and MOST IMPORTANTLY be a responsible pet owner yourself.
