The St. David’s Foundation COVID-19 Recovery Fund is gearing up to provide $10 million to nonprofit organizations in Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays, Travis and Williamson counties, according to the Community Impact Newspaper.

Eligible nonprofits must service vulnerable communities impacted by the novel coronavirus and be a 501(c)(3) organization. Priority will be given to nonprofits that work directly with health care providers, mental health services, food and financial assistance, etc., and to those nonprofits that focus on rural communities, women, children and older people who are socially isolated.

Nonprofits in Central Texas will have three chances to apply for grant money from the Recovery Fund: May 7, Aug. 13 and Oct. 15.

The foundation released a statement on their website about the importance of their COVID-19 Recovery Fund.

"We believe this public health crisis has created an extraordinary moment to call for greater and more equal health justice within our Central Texas community, and are committed to partnering with our neighbors throughout this time," the foundation said on its website
