Through a two-semester program offered at Dripping Springs High School in Central Texas, students can graduate with a high school diploma and a real estate license.
The need for real estate agents is high in the area because of the surge of new prospective homeowners. This need has greatly contributed to the popularity of the program.
Mike Lemonds worked closely with the Texas Education Agency to create the course. While it took a few years to create and implement, the program has enjoyed success since its inception.
"There is a process that you have to go through," Lemonds said. "But they work with you so close to try to help you reach the goal of creating that course."
Students 18 and over who complete 180 credit hours in real estate preparation and pass the Texas Real Estate License Exam will receive their real estate license.
