Stan Gerdes, a public figure active in Bastrop County, Texas, used his social media platform to promote local Republican events and address property tax concerns in July 2025.
On July 19, 2025, Gerdes encouraged engagement with the Bastrop County Young Republicans by inviting followers to upcoming gatherings. He wrote, “Get to know my better half, and join us at upcoming events! The Bastrop County Young Republicans connects and mobilizes young conservatives (ages 18–40) in and around Bastrop County. We are the future—be part of it! #txlege”.
Later that day, he promoted another event involving a notable business in the area. In his post dated July 19, 2025, Gerdes stated, “Save the Date! Check out @elonmusk’s Bodega in Bastrop, and hang with Young Republicans on October 19th Plenty to do for kids and adults (drinks on us)!”.
On July 21, 2025, Gerdes addressed ongoing concerns about property taxes in Texas. He wrote: “We have repeatedly provided historic property tax relief across the state, yet inflated appraisals and runaway local spending keep driving our property taxes higher. I’ve successfully fought local tax hikes in my district by rallying taxpayers and personally calling out bloated”.
Texas has seen significant legislative efforts aimed at reducing property taxes statewide. However, many residents continue to face rising bills due to increasing appraisal values and higher local government expenditures. These issues remain central topics of debate among policymakers and constituents throughout Texas.
