Stan Gerdes, a Republican elected to the Texas State House in 2023 to represent District 17, announced via social media that the Texas Rangers have been deployed to investigate alleged financial malfeasance in the City of Elgin.

Shortly after his initial announcement, Gerdes shared another post on October 30 with a link but no additional commentary: “https://t.co/O1ySVnWeFC”.

On November 1, Gerdes also shared a personal message celebrating Halloween: “Happy Halloween from our little astronaut! #txlege https://t.co/JLoj8fkjf8”.

Gerdes succeeded John Cyrier as state representative for District 17 after being elected in 2023. His recent actions follow ongoing scrutiny regarding municipal governance and oversight in Texas cities.
