Hays County officials announced on Apr. 7 that a public meeting with the Hays County Law Enforcement Association (HCLEA) will take place at 9:30 a.m. on April 13 at the Hays County Public Safety Building in San Marcos, Texas.
The meeting is part of ongoing efforts to discuss and negotiate aspects of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the county and its law enforcement personnel. The agenda includes introducing negotiation team members, support staff, and subject matter experts; discussing bargaining protocols; reviewing items open for negotiation; setting or confirming markets for salary studies; and scheduling future meetings.
The notice states that “the County will announce that it will go into Executive Session, if necessary, pursuant to Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code, to receive advice from legal counsel regarding any item on this agenda.” The meeting is being held in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act and Section 174.108 of the Texas Local Government Code.
Hays County encourages compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) during all public meetings. Individuals requiring auxiliary aids or services are asked to contact Erik Granjeno at (512) 393-2245 as soon as possible so appropriate arrangements can be made. The county says it “will make every reasonable effort to accommodate any valid request regardless of when it is received,” though Braille is not available.
